HOW REPORT VERIFICATION WORKS

Digital fingerprint of the report

Upon delivery, CHEVORA computes a SHA-256 hash of the report — a unique 64-character code. If even a single character in the report changes, the hash will differ.

Anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain

The hash is recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain via the OpenTimestamps protocol. The blockchain cannot be altered retroactively — this guarantees the precise creation date of the report.

Independent verification without involving CHEVORA

Any party — a notary, court, auditor, or business partner — can independently verify the authenticity of the report directly through the Bitcoin network, without contacting CHEVORA.

Cryptographic proof of document existence

Formally establishes that the report existed at a specific date. Accepted by EU courts under eIDAS. This is not a notarial act — it is a cryptographic proof of existence recognised by law.

BITCOIN OTS

Mathematically unforgeable. The blockchain record is immutable and independent of CHEVORA or any third party.

eIDAS RFC 3161

EU qualified electronic timestamp (eIDAS Art. 41). EU courts must presume the timestamp accurate unless the contrary is proved.

CERTIFICATE TEXT:
"This certificate proves that document [SHA-256] existed and was registered in the Bitcoin blockchain before block #N, and bears a qualified electronic timestamp under eIDAS Regulation Article 41. This is a cryptographic existence proof, not a notarial act."
